Zyada Free Ho gaye hain !!!

Celeberating independence! Good…. It brings back the memories of our patriots who sacrificed themselves for a cause, which can just be imagined, nothing more than that. If we are put in those hardships that they went through it will be very difficult for us to even survive, forget about protesting. 100s of days of fasting, tortures like lay naked on ice slabs, still surviving for the will of freedom. It was the will that took them that far and for which they are remembered. Such protests for freedom struggle was never nor will it be seen by the world.

Sacrifices, bloodsheds, tortures and what not still they were smiling as they knew that the independence was on its way. If not them, it will be others who will be benefited. And yes, their dream came true on 15th August 1947 when India got independence from the British Empire.

Today we stand in a free India

Today we breathe in a free India

Today we walk in a free India

Today we live in a free India

But do we live as we should have???

If its yes, I differ.

We live in India which is growing, in terms of economy, in terms of self respect, in terms of technology. We have cars like Maybachs, Masserati's, Ferrari's, Porche’s and Rolls Royces but do we have the roads to drive them ??? People load their cars in trucks, take it to the express highway, enjoy the drive, put it back in the truck and we are indeed progressing, Bajaj is soon going to buy Truimph! but will that Triumph be ridable in India? Our IT companies have gone to the extent that they feel a pinch when the rupee grows stronger than the dollar, coz they have done deals worth Millions and billions of dollars and decrease in a rupee against a dollar means loss of millions! Though we are ahead in technology, we still are the leaders in service industry!

Leaving behind the basic strengths we pound on other alternatives to prove our selves. People talk about lack of water, we don't have enough water to drink and use, and we don't have power-supply for our basic use. Its not the population that is to be blamed for, it’s the lack of awareness and negligence that creates these problems. Just think of the amount of water that we waste per day, if we as individuals keep a track of these small things this is what counts. The calculation is simple, multiply those numbers with atleast a million if not billion and see the difference. If you save 1 litre of water everyday in you daily activities, and if some one learns from you and it starts spreading just imagine 1 million litres of water getting saved everyday. Similarly, we eat stuff outside, kurkure, haldiram’s etc etc… but if we don’t throw those wrappers outside, we can save more than 1 million wrappers lying around ! This number can drastically increase, we need the will to change our India. Its not that changing India is changing the system, Don’t forget that drops can make oceans. Go ahead, Be a rebel..

Its a very general thing throughout the world. Humans are progressing and not the humanity and the day that starts progressing we can see we are independent. Before that keep a check on ourselves. Be the change you want to see in this world.

Jai Hind.

Vote for TAJ get free certificate..

Vote for the TAJ to be the Wonder of the world and get a free certificate for life... If you have voted once.. u can vote as many times using different id's... so go ahead

About the TAJ :

The Love

The Taj Mahal, a monument which has been described as ‘poetry in marble’ was constructed by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. He erected this mausoleum in the memory of his beloved wife, Arjumand Bano Begum, who had the title ‘Mumtaz Mahal’, who died in AD 1630. According to the history of Taj Mahal it is believed that her dying wish to her husband was “to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before.” Indeed, centuries later, no tomb has been able to even remotely equal the glory of the marvellous Taj.

Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore called the Taj Mahal ‘a drop of tear on the cheek of history’.

The Monument

A perfect piece of architecture, the Taj Mahal is built according to the Islamic concept of Paradise, where an enormous, shimmering pearl white dome stands supported by four corner pillars, from which flow the rivers of grace.

The massive plinth on which the Taj Mahal stands is representative of the material world, while the octagonal main structure signifies the transitional phase. Finally the dome is symbolic of being the vault of the heaven. To complete the illusion of the paradise, the tomb has been ornamented with splendid calligraphy of verses from the holy Koran, in flowing Arabic. An inscription written on the massive front gateway leading to the gardens in front of the Taj reads, “O soul that art at rest, return to the lord, at peace with Him and He at peace with you. So enter as one of His servants and enter into His garden.”

The Taj is marked by perfect symmetry and harmony, be it the shape of the four towering minarets; the cupolas (chhatris); the central arch in the façade; the perfectly arranged arched recesses on both the story's; the intricate pietra dura (stone inlay work); the delicate lattice work on marble windows or the magnificent dome. Even the mosque and the guesthouse (mehmankhana) are a mirror image of one another.

These monuments are entirely made of red sandstone. While both these buildings are mosques, the one towards the west (left side of the Taj) is important and used for offering prayers, as it not only sanctifies the Taj but also faces Mecca. The replica on the other side is known as the Jawab (answer).

However, there is one thing, which breaks the perfectly harmonious plan of the Taj Mahal – its position. Instead of locating the Taj Mahal in the middle of the Charbagh (four garden plan), Shah Jahan built the mausoleum at the far end of the garden, with the back wall falling straight down to the bed of Yamuna River.

Though Shah Jahan provided the vision behind the entire concept, he was assisted in his endeavour by a number of architects. The name of the architect, which is often mentioned during the building of Taj Mahal, is that of Muhammad Isa Khan, who hailed from Shiraz in Iran. It is also said that a creative nucleus of 37 people formed the core advisory group behind this gigantic project.

At the end of the first year of construction the mausoleum had taken shape and the crypt chamber, along with its surrounding works were also completed. The body of Mumtaz Mahal was ceremoniously interred into the tomb (The tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shahjahan are actually located in the basement, while their replicas are placed directly above in the upper hall). Six years of extensive labour saw the main building of the mausoleum complete and crowned with a majestic guava shaped dome. According to some historians the major construction of Taj Mahal was completed in about 10 years.

The Taj Mahal is distinguished as the finest example of Mughal architecture, a blending of Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles. Two notable decorative features are repeated throughout the complex: pietra dura and Arabic calligraphy. As embodied in the Mughal craft, pietra dura incorporates the inlay of semiprecious stones of various colours, such as lapis lazuli, jade, crystal, turquoise, and amethyst, in highly formalized and intertwining geometric and floral designs. The colours serve to moderate the dazzling expanse of the white Makrana marble. Under the direction of Amanat Khan al-Shirazi, Qur'anic verses were inscribed across numerous sections of the Taj Mahal in calligraphy, the centre of Islamic artistic tradition.

Calligraphy also encircles the soaring arched entrances to the mausoleum proper. To ensure its uniform appearance from the vantage point of the terrace, the lettering increases in size according to its relative height and distance from the viewer.

The changing light and shadows affect the colour and patterns of the Taj Mahal. The Taj is pinkish in the morning, milky white in the evening and golden when the moon shines.

Facts about the Taj Mahal:

  • Built by – Fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan
  • Dedicated to – Mumtaz Mahal (Arjumand Bano Begum), wife of Shah Jahan
  • Construction time – 22 years (1631 – 1653)

Trivia:

  • People say that Shah Jahan ordered that the hands of the craftsmen and architects be chopped off after building Taj Mahal, as he did not want them to build another grand monument as this one.
  • Shah Jahan planned to build another Taj Mahal in black marble as his own tomb.
  • Some European scholars claim that Taj Mahal was designed by an Italian architect by the name of Geronimo Veroneo. However, there is no hard evidence to prove this claim.
  • Some Indian scholars claim the Taj Mahal was a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which was taken over by Shah Jahan.

Supporting the Oz's with a reason !

Hi all, Long time no blogs from me, yeah was stuck with a lot of work these days, waise still not out of it, still managed to write out my mind.

Finally the world cup has come to an end. We all will be seeing of the last match, i.e. the finals tomorrow. Every team that reached till the semi's and the quaters did well, but not enough to reach the finals. My hope was New Zealand and South Africa, which have never won a world cup and are great teams. But, unfortunately they are out and the two teams remaining are Austrailia Oz's and the Lankans. Lankans are great in determination.

I would like to remind you of a thing that came to my mind. When the indian team was searching for the Coach many applicants applied, Greg Chappel, Tom Moody and many others as well. And Tom Moody was not selected as the coach because of his inexperience, and also as he had not played many games. He was not that great a player and finally we selected Greg Chappell. I donno what would have happened if Tom was our coach !

Any ways, coming back to the finals. I feel Australia deserves the victory, may be they are not good (We dont like them because of the winning habbits !) But, i really admire that team, the most professional team, that plays to win. A team that has not lost a match since the 1999 world cup and they should go ahead and beat the Lankans to get the unachievable target of winning 3 World cups ! See their temperment, their fitness, their strategies, their backings, this is what a team is not like.... forget it..

Bidding farewell to McGrath, Jayasuriya and many such great players, it will be difficult for Oz's to get a replacement !

On the other hand I feel if Lankans win, it will be a proud to the nation as well as Asia. But it should be a thriller atleast, not like the previous world cup when India was thrashed.

In the end it will always be, THE BETTER TEAM WINS !

Indo Pak 5 match series...!

Sorry to hurt u all guys, but just this thought came to my mind, after India and Pakistan have almost already returned from the world cup, why not have a 5 match series between India and pakistan in the subcontinent.

Already all the fans are upset with both the teams performances. So to give them some relief, this would be a good option i feel. Fans do not have any hope with either teams, so lets see who will win !!

Demolition Drive !

Here comes the Commissioner, Bang opposite IIT, the demolition has come here after transforming Marol Naka, Saki Naka the major link roads to the Mumbai International Airport, its great to see them there, its bad to see them work, its a mixed reaction to be frank, When we talk about one of the many bottlenecks towards the Airport this one was a crucial one, can hold you for hours together.

But not any more, T Chandrashekar is in the scene. with his force, to change the face of yet another city, Mumbai this time. After transforming Thane and Nagpur, winning several accolades for his planning he has been commissioned in Mumabi, where the challenge is far more than the other cities ! Mumbai being the busiest city of India, with a lot of traffic flowing at any point in the day and nights as well. And when a new comer comes to the city he feels the heat here, and if he is from outside of India then that experience could be horrifying, Yes the traffic problem is there in the whole world and the major cities like New York and LA are still fighting it but the number of cars are twice or thrice compared to Mumbai.

And for the shop owners they are in a bad state of mind as their business will be badly hampered, whereas they are also getting a rehabilitation from the government near Hiranandani, so that will be luxury for them and that could boom their business, lets hope them better luck.

But be ready to drive past IIT at the speed of Light !

Issued in Public Interest...

Have you ever thought about India, our country, Worlds largest democracy, which has the world’s second largest population. A developing nation, who has its own supercomputers, and state of the art technology. We Indians are in the Intels and Microsofts more than the Gora’s. But at one end it’s a hyper and the other end it’s a wiper. Poverty is also to its max in India. With people owning Maybach’s and Porche’s and there are more people who sleep on footpaths and that too without food on many occasions. But this is a case in the whole world and we are also a part of that world. Leaving that aside people say that we are better than many other countries like Africa, Bangladesh and so on where people don’t get necessary things that we get so easily.

But what about the hype that is created every year by the media about the sports that we don’t play. Yes, Actually the sports that we play is as good as we don’t play it. We don’t have many Olympic medals to our names, may be a handful of them, because of the nutrition supplied at the grass root level is very less or negligible. Where as smaller countries across the world are far better and superior in sports than India. Sports has a lot of potential in any country but it has to be nourished so that we have good players who can compete at World level. Take for instance the Cricket team. Its form is like BSE Sensex one day it goes up like we are the world champions and the other day its like we are worst than the Bangladeshi’s or the UAE Cricket team.

And talking about the National stuff that we have in India… National status is given to a sport or an animal or a bird on the basis of its existence in that particular country or something which the country feels proud of. Take Hockey for instance. We were champs of this sport some time back. And hockey is supposed to be our national game …. HA HA.. We recently lost in the world cup and that’s not new. We hold the 8th or the 10th position in the world in terms of Hockey. It has become a routine to loose tournaments and matches. I guess some other stuff should be promoted as a national game, say KHO KHO or KABADDI or something which the world doesn’t play.

Then take for instance the national animal, Tiger, again a HA HA…. It has become rare; rather Tiger is one of the extinct species of the wild days. We Indians are the major reason for their extinction, either because of the population spreading in the forests leaving those animals homeless or its done for fun and pride. And that day is not far when kids will have tigers left in their books as we have the dinosaurs. And we might soon see a desi version of Jurassic Park…. Rani Baug….wheeeew.. I will be the first one to watch that movie. I guess the street dogs should be made the national animal as we see them more than human beings these days as it is the most competitive runner up after tiger.

Lets talk about our National bird. Peacock, Such a beautiful bird with such flamboyant colours, reflecting the beauty of India but do we people who live in cities ever see that bird. Ask a kid around has he/she seen a peacock, and mostly the answer will be negative its because that is also becoming extinct and left in a very less part of India. I feel Kauva (Crow) should be promoted as the National Bird of India, What say ???

Hey how can we miss our National Television channel? DD or Door Darshan, We cant forget our childhood days when we used to see EK TITLI or MAHABHARAT or RAMAYANA or the HE-MAN, or say EK SHUNYA SHUNYA etc… etc… But that time there was no option and we were happy with what we had but now when the world has advanced we can’t just stick to what we were. Door Darshan, As the name suggests don’t dare come near it, be as far as possible. Coz u won’t find any thing worth watching on it, Its not that it doesn’t have good stuff but most of the time the reception is so bad that you wont be able to watch.

This guy is good for nothing, Always complaining, ye kharab who kharab, system kharab hai and things like that. Bahot Complaints ho gayin na… sorry for that but can’t resist.

If my brother or sister does something wrong, I scold them, If my nephew or neice do some mistakes I try and rectify them, Why? Because they are close to me and I care for them, I try to make them a better human being and the same holds true for me when I do mistakes my parents do the same to me and the chain goes on. It’s the matter of love and affection that one has for the other. They find mistakes in me and then I try and rectify those mistakes. By that they might seem cruel to me but I might not realize that it was for my benefit. The same holds true for the country I am born, the country I live in, the country I will hopefully die. I will try and make it a better nation. A nation which is an example for the world. This shud be a pledge by ever one, I feel.

Did u notice? I left the National flower untouched, Lotus, It won’t grow in a sea or a swimming pool, it grows in the pond, which has dirty stagnant water in it, But people ignore the dirty water and that same flower is used for decorating several bouquets…
