Sporty encounter!

Fifa World Cup is over and I am not a BIIIIIG fan of fifa though, but this year I made a point that I will follow it up. That time I was under training at LAVASA Corp. Ltd. which was a part of my academics and hence only Internet was the way we used to follow it up as we din't have television sets at home. It was fun, i'll tell you to check the proceedings of the CUP and then checking the game history or summary. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Beckham, Zidane and others, their scores, moves and things like that were interesting to read. But was disappointed with Brazil's performance.

I was lucky enough that our presentation and the training got over before the World Cup finals and hence got a chance to see those crucial matches LIVE with friends and family at home. Late Night TV was fun with friends. Our world Cup was over when Brazil lost it. But then a hope to see France win was suddenly born. Zidane, was impressive against Brazil as well as in the finals. I admit that I was a fan of Zidane but not to the extent of Ronaldo. The disappointing team strategy took out all the key players as the game ended and the France team was left with very few good players. Italy won the cup and I was again disappointed. Din't even watch the Cup ceremony.

But what struck my mind was, Football being a fast game, isn't that sportingly played as Cricket. We can clearly see HANDS, pulls, pushes and some great theatre performances of players getting injured, which any one can make out, ofcourse the head butts and that too done when refrees are busy with something else. The concept of third umpires is not introduced, God knows Y???

Coming on to cricket. Players like Sachin and Azhar were too honest (Not considering the Match fixing stuff). There are others who too are very straight but then few stand still as if the ball didn't even pass. For instance Inzy, Oh! what a player he is. Will stare the umpire as if he has done some murder by showing him the INDEX finger when the whole stadium has heard the knick of his stroke Their honesty is clearly visible when we see those old matches, where Azhar tries to play the ball outside off stump, even the bowler and the wicket keeper not appealing for the caught behind and he starts walking and this din't happen once or twice, but at several instances. This is one of the reasons for which Cricket is known as a Gentlemans Game, I feel. And also the third Umpire interveining also after the matches is great to see. You get fined if u misbehave. The case is same for Fifa as well but not at the level of Cricket.

Other games like tennis, TT and all also have similar mechanism wherein the third umpire takes care of things. Some rash games can just be imagined and not played. Games like Rugby, Ice Hockey, Hockey etc which are nice to see but clearly very unjust.

Finally its the spirit of the game that keeps the fans rolling...
