Writing the first blog was too difficult and this, second one of mine is not an exception. To write something bigger than a page was always a challenge for me. God knows, how have i cleared my exams by just streching my answers and writing some stories in the paper and fooling the examiners ;). Though they never noticed it, thats a different issue. NE ways... coming to the point.
Here i talk about INTERNET.
I am a frequent net user, tooooooo frequent indeed. More of a Netizen, than a citizen. Can't live without it at times. Let it be Orkut, yahoo etc etc... will try every thing new... And hence speed and reliabaility is one of the things i look forward for in the internet service. Hence without any doubt, a broadband fan and I enjoy the connection speed. Though have heard that in US the speed of the net is about 2-5 MBps which I can just imagine of, for the time being.
But talking about the service I got to use at home was SIFY. And to tell u all it wasn't a pleasure trip. May be, it wasn't Sify's problem, its the National Cable, the internet service provider... who thinks that he is one amongst Tata's and Ambani's for providing such great service.
Frequent disconnections was a routine. People complained but can't help, they had a new excuse every time, and the biggest hurdle that i faced, when at home was that of not having internet the whole day or for days and weeks together... Thanks to SIFY broadband as they were responsible for every thing.
Then finally the tubelight blinked after every thing and yesterday got a Broadband DSL MODEM, u guessed it right, MTNL Triband, will be active Insha Allah by tonight.
Triband has a different story to tell. Me n Dad went to the MTNL office to complete the formalities for the new connection. We met an officer, can't remember his name though, but as soon as we informed him that we need a Triband connection he said "Sir, its not triband that we offer right now Its Bi-Band". I was shocked to hear (Socha ki band baj gayi ab tou) that I thought that something wrong has happened and will have to again roll back to sify. But there was something which he wanted to convey, and it was simple, Triband stands for Telephone, Internet and Cable TV. Cable TV is a dream for MTNL till date, as informed. The officer said that he is hearing stories of MTNL providing consumers with Cable connections too since last two years but nothing has happened yet and nothing is foreseen for the coming six months, but who cares.
Every things fixed today the lineman will do the needful and then lets see.
For now, I am enthralled and excited to use the high speed internet connection (256 kbps)
Chao for now!
